The Aurora bridge where it crosses the ship canal on Highway 99 is the number two spot in the country for jumpers. So after an afternoon of comparisons - the best view of any potential jumper plus a clean bite is found at a joint on Nickerson street. In the summer - you can dine outside (with you lady friend and an adult beverage) with a totally unrestricted commanding view of any jumper - BTW, the stunning hot meat loaf sandwich is great.

Dan Savage, editorial director for The Stranger, suspects the letter came from someone in the gay community who was frustrated with going to bars. If it were a hate letter from a straight person, he speculated, the letter would have used epithets and contained references to God.
